Wait, who is this Max Verstappen guy?

Max Verstappen is a Formula One driver for Red Bull. There's not much debate that he was likely conceived, born, and raised in a race car. Born in September 30, 1997 to his dad Jos Verstappen and his mom Sophie Kumpen (both of whom were race drivers themselves), racing is quite literally in Max Verstappen's DNA.

Involved in racing for most of his life, it was in 2015 that Max became the youngest driver to ever race in F1. He was 17 years old. Do you know what most people were doing when they were 17? While they might have been slappen something, it's safe to say they weren't slappen laps in F1 like Max.

Did you know?

When he was but a child, Max was once left alone at a gas station by his dad as punishment for a having a bad race. Some might call that cruel, others call it cracking a few emotional eggs to make a Formula One super omelette!

And what's this "slappen" business?

There is no better word to describe the utter dominance Max has over the rest of the field. Plus it made a good domain name.

"Well that's some gentle introduction"

Gianpiero Lambiase

"No, Mate. Don't give me that . You guys gave me this strategy, ok? I'm trying to rescue what's left. "

Max Verstappen's F1 Origin Story

Believe it or not, Max didn't hit the F1 scene slappen right away. Although he made his Formula One debut with Scuderia Toro Rosso at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, he didn't score points until the 2015 Malaysian Grand Prix, a whopping 14 days later, where he finished 7th. In May 2016, Verstappen won the Spanish Grand Prix, becoming the youngest driver to win a Formula One Grand Prix. In August 2016, he was promoted to Red Bull Racing, starting from the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix.

In 2018, Max took to slappen his teammate Daniel Ricciardo, winning the number 1 driver position. Some say Danny boy hasn't been seen since.

"I'm not just sitting behind like a grandma... I'm being sensible don't worry."
- Max Verstappen

Slappen Ricciardo was the first step. Max was just getting warmed up. Verstappen won two races in 2019 and finished third in the championship. In 2020, he won two races and finished third in the championship again.

Then things really started to slap into place for Max in 2021. He won his first World Championship title after winning 10 races and finishing on the podium in 16 of the 22 races. The season came down to the wire and the win was clinched after a rather umm... interesting finish in the final race.

He successfully defended his title in 2022 after winning 15 races and finishing on the podium in all but one race. It was largely a one horse race as the closest challenger for the Championship was Charles Leclerc who not only competed with Max, but his own strategists all season long. Question?
